DJ's Rajun Cajun and Old Towne Events Center Present Petersburg Out & Proud 2019

Special thanks to DJ Payne, owner of DJ's Java Joint, Old Towne Events, DJ's Rajun Cajun, and Wabi Sabi for making this event possible! Proceeds from this event will support the mission of Tri-Cities Pride, Inc. David "DJ" Payne is a board member of Tri-Cities Pride, Inc. and co-chair of the Petersburg Out & Proud Committee.


 Tri-Cities Pride, Inc. is an LGBT equal rights centric organization formed by like-minded friends, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and business professionals focused on spreading awareness through education to the citizens of the Tri-Cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Petersburg, as well as the surrounding counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, and Prince George. Tri-Cities Pride, Inc. is in the final stages of becoming a nonprofit organization.

Shelly Bonet

As an independent 14 year old, Shelly Bonet began her desire to perform in small bars and clubs scattered across Germany guided by the loving gaze of her Family. Embracing her Fathers love for Led Zeppelin, Howlin Wolf, Elmore James, T-Bone Walker. Allman Brothers through to Etta James and her Grandfather’s melodic ear as a pedal steel player, inevitably Shelly would foster a love for a wide range of musical genres. Michael Bolton describes Bonet as “ the best support act we have every had the pleasure of working with”. Certainly an accolade to cherish.

Sloth Loves Chunk

Sloth Loves Chunk is an established Richmond rock & roll cover band with a strong fan base developed from years of playing great venues such as Capital Ale House Music Hall, Sine, Cary Street Café, Sharky’s, Home Team Grill (Fan location), Poe’s Pub, Easy Street (before Easy Street went belly up), etc. SLC is known as one of Richmond’s premier rock & roll bands because every show is a party. SLC plays everything from AC/DC to Foo Fighters to Lenny Kravitz to ZZ Top. 


During Set Breaks, special guests including LGBTQ members of the Military and Mr. Gay Canada will make special presentations!

MonGays Tri-Cities Pop-up: The Gospel According to Andre

 VA Pride and Diversity Richmond have teamed up with Tri-Cities Pride, Inc. and The Hopewell Downtown Partnership to present a Pop-Up #MonGays as the grand finale of Petersburg Out & Proud.

We'll be screening The Gospel According To Andre - the critically acclaimed documentary on the life of Vogue editor André Leon Talley who rose from humble beginnings in North Carolina to become the high fashion world’s first major African-American tastemaker.

There is a suggested donation of $4 with all proceeds benefiting Nationz Foundation's work in the Tri-Cities.
